Personal experience:
I am actually starting to use Blogger for this course. To be honest, I am not having a great experience. It's exciting to find out I can do the knowledge sharing. I can share my understanding, thoughts, and reflections with others. When I read my blog, I am very professional instead of emotional. When I always write my diary-like journal, I am prone to be emotional. I enjoy the feeling of sharing my thoughts regarding topics I know better in our field. But the other thing is that I feel alone without comments. Without others' comments, I do not know whether I did wrong or not regarding a topic.
The function of Blogger
I think blogger is a good tool for knowledge sharing. We can type words, send pictures, add web links .It well meet our needs regarding knowledge sharing.
Another personal experience by Ray: Another good feature is that we can add others' blogger posts to our reading lists. Then all the blog posts in our reading lists would show on our "my blogs" page. This makes it very convenient to read others' blogs, and leave comments.
I think college teachers can model students' use of blogger for a course. For this course, I believe if students only used the blogger as a main communication tool, they would enjoy using it. As Vanessa did, the teacher can make a summary of students' blog post and offer a clear direction for students. Then students can just go to the blog posts they feel interested and leave substantial comments, thus promoting online conversations.
I think graduate students should get used to writing blogs on a regular basis. As far as I know, graduate students are always afraid of scholar writing. Blogger can offer a platform where we can practice our scholar writing regarding a mini topic.
